School Snacks [Nut-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free]

Nut-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free snacks

Nut-Free, Dairy-Free, Egg-Free snacks from my home pantry

Savannah started preschool last week. We are very fortunate and excited that we found a school with a great food allergy policy. Some of the highlights include:

  • The school is completely nut-free.
  • Because of Savannah’s allergies, her classroom is also dairy and egg-free.
  • The teacher wears the students’ Epi-Pens at all times.
  • The school requested more than one week prior to the start of school to have Savannah’s Allergy Action Plan on file (rather than me requesting that they put it on file).
  • Savannah’s teacher called me personally, again prior to the first day of school, to discuss her allergies and any concerns, and to review a safe snack list for my approval.

In addition, she asked if I would provide an additional list of snacks that she can provide the other parents. I’ve included that list below.

As parents, we want to do everything we can to protect our children, even when we can’t be with them. I hope this list is a helpful tool for all parents of kids with or without food allergies. Have a happy and safe school year!

Please note: This list was developed based on my own research, which is primarily the internet and reading of package labels. I did not request or receive specific manufacturing practices from any of the companies listed here. While food manufacturers are required to list all ingredients, they are NOT required to state shared equipment or facility manufacturing practices on their label packaging. If you have questions, I would recommend calling the manufacturer directly. Also, please know that manufacturing practices and recipes are subject to change, so remember to read labels to help ensure that a food product is still free of the allergens you are trying to avoid. In my experience, the changing of ingredients is especially true about store brands, so read carefully.

Thank you for sharing!! We are only Egg allergic from your list, but appreciate your research 🙂 Just for my own knowledge, Have you confirmed cross contamination with the companies?

    • Lainy, I have not confirmed cross contamination with every company, and I always recommend contacting a company directly for confirmation of allergen-safe practices, as every family has a different case and thresholds vary from person to person. Good luck.

Thank you so much I also have to provide a list for my sons school, but after a few snacks I realized how hard this could be. So checking your list gave so much more ideas, thanks a lot!
