Okay nut-free, dairy-free people, if you haven’t tried Biscoff Spread, this is the time to go buy a jar. Even if you don’t make this recipe, you need to buy a jar. It is addicting!
This recipe is inspired by the Food Network, one of my go-to websites. Several years ago I made the Chocolate Hazelnut Ravioli recipe by Giada De Laurentiis, but I had not made it for my daughter Savannah since she is allergic to dairy. I decided to make an allergen-safe alternative with nut-free Biscoff Spread.
If you have never had Biscoff Spread, you are missing out. Whether you eat it in a wonton cookie or straight from the jar, it is awesome stuff! You’ll find it in the peanut butter aisle at the grocery store. Enjoy this decadent treat!

Biscoff Wonton Cookies [Nut-Free]
Water [put in a small bowl]
16 wonton wrappers [available in the produce aisle]
16 teaspoons Biscoff spread [or another allergen-safe spread such as
I.M. Healthy Chocolate SoyNut Butter]
Canola oil, for frying
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Procedure:
- Line a baking sheet with plastic wrap or wax paper and set aside.
- Place one wonton wrapper on a plate. Spoon 1 teaspoon of Biscoff spread into the center of the wrapper.
- Using your fingers, moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper diagonally in half over the filling and tightly press the edges of the wrapper to seal.
- Place the wonton on the prepared baking sheet.
- Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and Biscoff spread.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Add enough canola oil to a heavy large frying pan to reach a depth of 2 inches. Heat the oil over medium heat to 350 degrees F.
- Working in batches, carefully add the wontons to the hot oil and cook until they are golden brown, about 45 seconds per side.
- Using tongs or a slotted spoon, transfer the wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Then, transfer the cooked wontons to another baking sheet and keep them warm in the oven while frying the remaining wontons.
- Dust the wontons with powdered sugar and serve.
Note: The fried wontons can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cool them completely, then cover and refrigerate. Before serving, place them on a baking sheet and rewarm in a preheated 375 degrees F oven just until they are heated through, about 7 minutes.
Healthier Version: Instead of frying, bake the wontons. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Assemble wontons as directed above. Line wontons on a baking sheet sprayed with allergen-free baking spray. Bake 15 minutes. Use a spatula to remove wontons from baking sheet. Dust the wontons with powdered sugar and serve.
